Beautiful cottage and excellent location

Everything was perfect

We were really looking forward to our trip to Beddgelert, and there’s no denying that the location of the cottage is lovely — stunning walks right on the doorstep, easy parking nearby, and the bonus of EV chargers in the village.

Unfortunately, the condition of the cottage itself let the experience down significantly. On arrival, we were immediately hit by a strong and unpleasant smell of damp, and it was also clear the cottage had not been cleaned to a reasonable standard – the kitchen tops were covered in crumbs, the table had sticky food residue, the kitchen floor was filthy and the bathroom suite was covered in soap scum and hairs. Concerned, I contacted the owner — but the response I received left me feeling very uncomfortable. Their reaction was erratic and confrontational, and instead of acknowledging the issue calmly, she began cleaning while we were trying to settle in, leaving the vacuum on the landing and using the only dishcloth to wipe the floor. She repeatedly stated to her partner that they "always get 10/10 for cleanliness", implying the problem was mine, and asked me to walk her around to list my complaints — something I attempted, but it became an awkward and unpleasant interaction. I had attempted to mop the floor myself, only to find the mop was so old and dirty that it made things worse. Disturbingly, a new mop mysteriously appeared in the cottage on day three — without any communication or request for permission to enter, which I believe breaches short-term rental agreements. Back to the first night and I explained that my husband was returning with our dinner and that we simply wanted to eat and put our children to bed after a stressful day - to which she responded by accusing me of making her feel bad! However, she did offer to return the next day to clean, but this never happened — despite us informing her partner in the morning that we were going out and would be out all day. To make matters worse, we had no heating or hot water on the first night and following morning. This was initially blamed on a village water leak, but the water pressure to the cottage was fine — the issue appeared to be with the heating system itself.

Host a lovely lady who couldn’t do enough for us and was on hand with anything we needed.

For the price we paid it had everything we needed, we would love to stay again.

The location and how tidy and clean it is

One of the mattress needs to be changed and we couldn’t really work out how to keep the hot water

The property was lovely. Very comfortable. A bottle of wine was left for us. This is a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend this property. We will certainly be going back. Thank you.

Location, good size and layout.

Extra fold out bed was very uncomfy- thin mattress you could feel the bed base bars through.

I had a nice time in a quiet place, beautiful views. The cottage is cozy and very clean.There are comfortable armchairs and sofa in the living room, and you can light a fire in the beautiful chimney. The kitchen is equipped with everything I needed. The owners gave us a bottle of wine, delicious cookies and a bottle of milk as a gift. I will be happy to go back there. Thank you.

Set a in a beautiful picturesque village. Clean and well equipped. Very cosy and pleasure to stay in.
