Location in village.

Overwhelming smell of damp. Description and photos are a little misleading. There is no river view as this is the opposite side of the road shielded by buildings. Hot water only warm couldn't use the shower or bath. Steep uneven steps from kitchen to living room. Bathroom door only partially opens as the wash hand basin prevents this. There were some other niggles but this isn't a moan just my view. Go make up your own minds.

Superb location. Good central heating. Large downstairs living room and kitchen. Close proximity to do mountain walks and flat walks from front door. Beginning of October was quiet time in the village.

Difficult to get shower to stay on in ensuite room. No bedding or towels for fifth person due to some miscommunication with cleaner. Although comfortable for 5 adults, the arrangement of a single fold out bed in the double room as the fifth bed meant it was more practical for one person to sleep downstair, and four up.

Location and cleanliness of the property

The main issue is that the hosts do not accept responsibility for any issues with the house. Firstly, there was a problem with the heating, as after a long walk, we entered the house to find it absolutely freezing. When we called them to fix it, they told us that someone must have meddled with the thermostat, even though we didn’t even know where the thermostat was located. Despite the fact that they have remote access to turn the heating on and off, they blamed us for it. Furthermore, we selected this property over other cheaper options due to the two bathrooms, however the shower room is unusable. The moment we turned the shower on, the ceiling in the kitchen below started to leak. When we mentioned this issue to the hosts, they were once again very patronising and dismissive, advising us to shut the shower door, even though everyone obviously would know to do that. Lastly, the photos are somewhat misleading, particularly of the outdoor spaces. There is no garden, just a small patio, and the photo of the large green space with the wagon is actually a public park nearby. Also, whilst the photos and listing make it seem as though the property is river facing, it is not; it is close to the river. Additionally, the property is advertised as having free parking, when in fact there is no off-street/reserved parking at all, and we had to search for parking on the road every day

Lovely cottage with good facilities in a beautiful little village. The owners were very helpful.

I would definitely stay here again!
