"Well sited cottage with great views."

8.0

On the positive side, the cottage is nicely sited with exceptional views from all sides. The location too is excellent with its siting making it an easy drive to a large number of local attractions, such as the Severn Valley Railway (5’), Dudmaston Hall (5’), the Severn Valley Country Park and West Midlands Safari Park (15’), Black Country Living Museum (35’) and Welshpool and Llanfair Railway (58’). The bed is large and comfortable and the kitchen is well laid out. The shower is comfy and there is plenty of hot water.

On the less positive side, although having tremendous potential, the property feels slightly tired. Most of the furniture is sturdy and well built but well worn. The bath appeared to be dirty but on closer inspection appeared to be quite worn. There were also a number of minor niggles such as the cold tap in the kitchen dripping unless in a certain position (not totally off) and the window in the bedroom which once unlocked could not be kept in a slightly open position but dropped to leave it far too wide for the time of year. A manual for the cooker would also be helpful as although most of it could be worked out intuitively, use of the grill required downloading a manual from the internet. We enjoyed our stay but it could have been improved by attention to the points raised above.

"Delightful getaway in the Shropshire countryside"

8.0

Beautiful views from the property. Very comfortable with good facilities. Lots of brochures provided showing all the local attractions.

Check-in was a bit tricky. It was raining and dark when I arrived and I couldn’t get the box open to retrieve the keys. Maybe a little shelter over it so it’s easier for guests.
