"Quaint and cosy stay in Cotsworlds proximity"

8.0

Quaint cottage in small county town within walking distance of local shops, pub and restaurant

Extremely steep indoor stairs and no parking in front of cottage, parking in town square.

"Fantastic cottage, fantastic hosts"

10.0

Lucy was very responsive. A baby bed was provided when it didn’t appear there would be one. Lucy also provided multiple personal recommendations for food and sightseeing as well as provided some personal touches to make us feel welcome.

Everything was perfect. Lovely cottage in a great location.

I'm really picking here because it was excellent but the only two things I would suggest would be a big mirror in the downstairs bathroom and a bigger television in the front room.

"A pleasant and cosy stay"

7.0

The cottage is cosy and aged with its own unique characteristics. The location of cottage is just behind the town which is convenient for running errands and having our meals. Although the church bell ringing at an interval from the church located opposite the cottage, it is bearable for us. Once we closed the window, the bell were barely audible. Overall, the neighbourhood environment was pleasant and our host was accommodating who responded swiftly to our requests to make our stay comfortable. :D

A pity that the slopped ceiling above the bathroom at L2 which make us can't fully enjoy the facilites as we will bump our head whenever we try standing up (but no issue for toddler). We understand it is due to nature of the building and how the bathroom is located within the master bedroom, we choose to bathe in the ground floor's common bathroom instead. The condition of the electric appliances such as interiors of oven and washing machine may need thorough cleaning as it is too greasy and visibly unpleasant to use.

"This is not a 4 star property and our stay was completely disappointing."

4.0

The location of the property is beautiful. It is in a lovely village and is situated opposite the church. Lovely shops, pubs and restaurants locally. The food and service at The Wheatsheaf was fantastic. The bathrooms were very clean. Some lovely touches, such as biscuits for the dogs, coffee pods and biscuits

My first impression was a broken gate and a unkept front garden ( full of weeds not cottage flowers). The front door didn’t close properly. On entering the property the smell of dogs hit us. We wanted to turn around and leave. Downstairs is a real disappointment, as it is full of mismatch furniture and not in an eclectic way - it’s feels messy not cosy. The furniture is only fit for a skip. Upstairs is much better. No light shade in hallway, just bare bulb. Lamp in second bedroom didn’t work. The place is definitely not 4 stars. On two occasions we could not park in the square/or any local streets. We had to park at the recreational ground a short walk away. Although, you are not allowed to park outside. Royal Mail are and there is at least 4 vans outside the property. The staff start work very early and they woke us up on both days and we are up by 6am. There was broken pots and a untidy rear garden. You certainly would not want to spend much time in it. I have never given a bad review before, but I was so upset that I paid £415 for two nights to stay there.
