Sunderland Self Catering 2 - Violet Cottage Free Parking

The landlord was exceptional and went out of his way to buy gluten free biscuits for my arrival . The cottage was spacious .good quality curtain to block out light The kitchen was good .

The pillows were not good and imo need replacing . The mattress was very soft , and lots of the crockery was chipped. The back yard was littered with cigarette butts. It was a nice cottage but little things let it down

Lovely cottage, great location near to the city centre, beautiful decor and so clean when arrived. Great experience and would definitely recommend for anyone needing to stay near Sunderland city centre.

The home itself is absolutely gorgeous, so homley and clean and comfortable. I've stayed a few places and this is by far the best. Tea coffee and milk were provided which was a lovley gesture till we got to the shop. Beds were so comfortable and soft. Very clean. Felt like home, was lovley will definitely be booking again. It's so much better than the pictures. Quiet area lovley people. Host was lovley easy to speak to when paying deposit and every instruction of how to enter on arrival was explained very well in a text easy to understand. Thank you.

Great location. Very comfortable and clean. Grant was very helpful and knowledgable, giving good advice about how to get to the Stadium of Light for the Women’s Rugby World Cup. Told us about the Fanzone and where it was. Told us some good eating places. Would recommend Violet Cottage for a short stay.

Not a negative about the cottage, but maybe put a notice on the door about putting the parking permit in your car before leaving the cottage to go anywhere. Needless to say, we forgot and got a ticket. Not blaming anyone as I was told about the permit.

Very comfortable clean cottage with a great host! Everything you could possibly need for a weekend away. Will definitely be staying again.

Exceptionally quiet location. Could park directly outside of the front door. Well equipped cottage and very comfortable beds.

The size and quality of the towels could be better.

Violet Cottage was fantastic! The decor was beautiful, very modern. The beds were comfy. The street was very quiet, no noise over the weekend. It was a 5 minute walk into town, but there were a few shops just around the corner. Parking was great, especially being free! We thought we had an issue with the boiler, so contacted the owner. He came to see if he could resolve the issue, which was very easily resolved....it just needed switched on!! 🤣. 10/10 for communication, accommodation and central location. Thank you!
