Summerhill Cottage

The spacious cottage had lots of room. Also, the location was perfect.

Bad sewage smell coming from the downstairs toilet and jacuzzi room next to main lounge, we had to tolerate whilst socialising with family and very uncomfortable for our 5 month old baby.. Could not get hold of anyone regarding sorting the issue, after sending messages and also calling. Bathroom door in the master bedroom would not close when not in use, so had to use our shoe to keep it closed and the sky blind would not remain closed so had to improvise to keep the room dark for us and our 5 month old baby.

Few maintenance issues

The cottage is very pretty and the outside gardens are very peaceful

The bathroom had a leak, and one of the shower heads wasn’t working properly. Unfortunately, the plumber didn’t attend to fix the issues, even though the housekeepers had reported them.

Location

Very old cottage. Very musty especially the upholstery - gave people allergies. No bedrooms on the groundfloor so my Mum had a big problem with her bad knees. Hosts refused to let us use the adjoining empty cottage on the ground floor even after repeated requests forf help. Cobwebs and dirt accumulated on hanging utensils in the kitchen. some doors didnt shut properly. 4th bedroom has a single bed. only one enuite. fetid smell in the living room

Lovely big house with comfortable beds, plenty of seating inside and out of the house, good size driveway, lots of character about it and not too far away from anything

Nothing, was all good.

Has lots of coziness and character. Locations and views are stunning and it has plenty of firewood, cleaning products and toiletries

Smell of sewage in main living area, unpredictable showers and lots of dust and cobwebs. Not sure if tap water is drinkable or not.

Exceeded expectations

Beautiful property in fantastic, quiet location with gorgeous views (we made sure to be up for the sunrise and were not disappointed)! It had everything we needed and more (some rooms felt like walking into a well kept and well preserved museum, we loved exploring them, finding something new every time 😊). Location is slightly remote, narrow little roads but absolutely fine if coming in a car. We had a superb time, thank you for having us!
