Brilliant little place for one

Clean, comfy and easy

Unfortunately, our stay did not begin as expected due to the temperature of the property on arrival. The house was extremely cold, and it appeared that the heating had not been turned on prior to check-in. The bedroom in particular had no effective heating for approximately 20 hours, which made the first night very uncomfortable. As a result, both myself and my son — who is autistic and particularly sensitive to environmental changes — woke up feeling unwell, and the situation caused him considerable distress. We had even packed our belongings with the intention of leaving early and ending our stay. There was also not enough wood provided for one night for the fire. As we arrived on a Sunday when local shops were closed, we had to travel to a garage to purchase additional wood and kindling at our own expense, which could have been avoided if adequate supplies had been available. I have submitted a formal complaint regarding these issues and am currently awaiting a response, but unfortunately have not yet received any communication. I hope this feedback helps improve preparation for future guests, as ensuring the property is warm and properly supplied before arrival would make a significant difference to the overall experience.

The cottage is perfect for a couple. The bed is comfy and the kitchen is great (I cooked a roast dinner with no problems). The location is great too. Both pubs in the village are nice and friendly and it's easy to walk from the village without using the car.

The only thing was that the cottage was initially a bit chilly. Once we bought some logs and got the log burner going, the cottage was nice and cozy in no time.

the cottage is small and lovely. HOWEVER, bed sheets were full of hair and dust, same for pillow and duvet covers : clearly they did not change them. I whatsApped and texted the contact number to ask them to come and change the following day but no answer. Also, there is not a good smell. I don't recommend this place.
