Extremely well fitted out and comfortable even down to eggs, milk, tea, coffee and bottle of wine to start us off. Rooms :very nicely kitted out. Beautiful grounds, peaceful. Friendly owners. A wonderful stay.

Absolutely nothing is forgotten in this wonderful house. Gardeners cottage was the most dog friendly and well thought out place we have ever stayed at. Peaceful, has all you need and a fab location for getting around to both the lakes and coast. We loved it and so did our poochies. Weather was not amazing and we still had a brilliant time. We worked from the cottage for the first two days and Wi-Fi was good.

Free bottle of wine was excellent as were the cakes on arrival. Very very quiet, easy walk into village to local pub. Well appointed kitchen with washing mahine and big fridge freezer as well as microwave and over/Hob. Useful boiler room for drying stuff in. Chatting with owners about the hall, its history and their restoration work. useful reference OS maps for area.

It is a shame there is no almost O2 phone signal in the cottage, but we were able to use Wifi for calling. Hey it is Cumbria.

Excellent size and equipped property for 2 in an ideal position for exploring and walking the lakes, towns and coast. The welcome pack left by hosts Ann & Martin was great and unexpected. Cannot praise the property, hosts and location enough. Will hopefully return again.

Gorgeous place in beautiful surroundings. Very high spec & nice extra touches with wine, brownies, eggs and milk.

The kitchen was very cold because the radiator wasn’t working. The batteries in the TV remote were dead.

One of the best breaks I have had. Great hosts and wonderful property and location. It is beautiful and serene. I really do recommend booking a break here.
