The Ferns Hideaway

Great place to stay....

Had my best sleep during the trip because this property is hidden in a very quiet area of the town and everything inside is very homey. The owner is very helpful and always responsive to my questions / requests. The property is stunning and is fully equipped.

One bathroom doesn’t have a curtain. Maybe this is intended by the design. There is absolutely no problem with privacy because this stylish property is in the woods. It’s just my personal preference.

The property is ideally located and was easy to find. Inside, it is well maintained and cozy. The kitchen is stocked and was very easy to use. Rooms were cozy and warm water was available all the time.

We loved this special home and location. It was a remote town, and the Ferns Hideaway provided warmth, comfortable beds, homely couches and a fabulous kitchen.

EVERYTHING!!! The location is excellent. Nicely appointed. The kitchen has nearly anything you’d need. The home is spacious and beautiful. We felt at home which doesn’t always happen when traveling. Loved the covered deck. We sat out there playing games even though it was raining. On a 10-point scale I would easily give it an 18.

This is not a negative but a hot tub would have been the cherry on top.

Spacious and comfortable home with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. Private garden and large verandah. Clean and well maintained property.

Really good location, lovely deck area that we enjoyed looking out at the trees and mountain top with our morning coffee. Fairly modern and very spacious, would be ideal for a long stay or group /large family. The fireplace and bath were nice to relax that extra little bit. If it was terrible weather outside you could still have a nice holiday indoors here. Main bedroom was very comfy and felt a bit upmarket with the aimchairs, a nice touch I don’t see too often! You could easily prepare meals at home, but there are also many food and drink options within walking distance. The Tatare Tunnels and Callery Gorge walks are very close by too. Overall a comfortable stay.

There were a lot of instructions (eg "please remove shoes" at multiple entries, "dry dishes" on every kitchen drawer) that we felt a bit unwelcome. There was water damage in in some rooms, though not enough to be a major concern for us. Also a reason we chose this place was the washing facilities, but the clothes line and drying rack were in use when we arrived.
