"Wonderful location"

10.0

Perfect location for peak district and motorway. Beautiful surroundings in a working farm. Amazing cottage with high beams. Cosy bed, lovely bathroom. It was perfect. A little expensive. However I did stay during Christmas and boxing day. So the price reflected the time of year. The only thing I would add (which won't even both most people staying in that area) would be having a smart tv. Although if I had known, I could have taken my smart box. I mention this only due to being very unwell whilst I was there. And actually ended up having to stay in when I was expecting to be with my family all the time. I am disabled, parking was easy. I wouldn't say it would be a place to stay if you relied completely on a wheelchair. Other than that I would even say it's pretty disabled friendly. The one last thing I would say is that its nit pet friendly. I don't understand why. It's a working farm with cows and horses and dogs. And easy to clean the tiled floors. Although the hostess was excellent when she realised I did indeed have a dog. Snd was given special permission to take her. Although I never allowed her into the bedroom where the carpets where. Fabulous place. Will stay again. Many thank

"Cosy cottage with great access to the Peak District attractions"

10.0

A lovely peaceful cottage in a great location for exploring the Peak District. Amenities were good. Warm and comfortable. Situated in a quiet village with easy access to Bakewell and Hope Valley. Just 4 miles down the road is the park and ride rail station which we went to Sheffield for the day, great city to explore.

"Lovely stay."

8.0

Nice conversion of an existing farm building.

Minor stuff. Fickle nature of the hot water system - more instructions required on this. Lack of kitchen utensils. No frying pan. Teflon damaged pans (need throwing away, dangerious for health). Lack of a small sharp knife. And I never did manage to find the bins!

Nice quiet cottage, well stocked kitchen, Milk in fridge plus some bread for next day. Happy to come here again.

We had some difficulties opening the bedroom window and the duvet was a bit small for us together

"Lavender Cottage - Very Nearly Perfect for Us"

9.0

The cottage is situated on a working farm (livery) in a beautiful part of the countryside and is very easy to get to. On arrival the milk, butter, bread, wine and flowers were a lovely welcoming touch. The cottage was much less sparsely furnished than the advert indicated making it a warmer and a more comfortable space to use. Wifi is provided and the hdmi sockets on the TV for a Fire Stick were accessible and working. The kitchen had plenty of cutlery and crockery, not the usual meagre one of everything for the exact number of guests. All of the appliances were clean, working and easy to use. The bathroom was spacious and well fitted out. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The little seated area next to the cottage was a small and intimate place to go outside and watch the horses and their owners go by and to just relax. We even got to see a Farrier shoe one of the horses. There is a quaint, friendly pub just down the road and some good eateries close by. Lavender cottage would be the perfect retreat if you do not need to rely on a phone signal. If we do not need to be on hand for others, we would definitely go there again.

The main observation was that there was no phone signal at all, although WiFi is provided. This is absolutely perfect if you wanted to get completely away from the world, but we needed to be on hand for emergency calls. The lack of phone signal was not made clear at all in the blurb.
