The Schoolhouse Cottages peaceful and quiet retreat with log burner

We loved the views, and the character of the cottage! The window nook was fabulous as well.

I do wish there were wash cloths, but otherwise I had everything I needed!

We liked everything about cottage the style,location,great facilities and also very welcoming host,cleanliness and tidiness, great wi fi signal,big library,real fireplace,very well working showers and baths in the cottage,outside very well maintained garden with benches and tables and barbecue area ,relaxing and tranquil surroundings,great walks around,private parking,close to StAndrews,lots of places to see and visit around area,history of old school cottage,views in a morning out of bay windows to the garden and quietness at night, little fairy lights in driveway and in the garden,dark sky so you can see stars and enjoy not polluted air,everything about that place we liked.We will recommend to stay and enjoy the place as we did.

Ideally located for a quiet stay but easy to get to the nearest town of Cupar and further afield e.g. St Andrews. A reallly unique property with parking and access to a garden area. The views are amazing and we were blessed with lovely weather. Excellent communication with the host prior to our arrival. Milk, tea/coffee and breakfast is made available by the host. A range of toiletries are also available. This is not just somewhere to lay your head and time should be taken to relax and enjoy the cottage.

Loved everything. Personally I would like to know more about the history of the cottage and the adjacent building - but that's just me and is not a criticism!

The place was amazing!! So beautiful! And well together with everything you could need! Milk in the fridge and tea in the cupboard <3

I wish we had been there longer

House was wonderfully quiet as in a hamlet. All provisions included, including wood for the fire. Host was immensely helpful.

The interior was a little dated. Was quite difficult getting the car in and out of the drive.

It was just wow such a quirky place loved it so much. Everything from how organised Everything was to the flooring and hidden kitchen. It was a perfect location for walking and deer watching, the woods right next to cottage was lovely. Bill was lovely host and made sure we were OK and opened the gates every morning he gave us some suggestions for walks and food which was very helpful

Only thing was sofa bed a bit on firm side but not something to put me off from stopping there again

nice quiet location, great communication & excellent property with enough ‘quirkiness’ to make it interesting whilst still having everything you need. wood burning stove also great to have as an option.

lovely rural location, Bill made us very welcome and couldn’t have been more helpful. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Bill showed us how to light a fire in the wood burner and left us enough wood for us for the 4 nights we were there. I didn’t think I would be lighting a fire but because it was so cold out we did need to supplement the electric storage heating with the fire in the evenings….. this was a blessing!! Very grand space!

it took us a couple of days to work out how to boost the heating… Bill went to great lengths to help us out with this … written instructions might be useful.
