Check-in and key collection is between 15:00 and 17:00 at the Cairns Alpine Resort Reception, located at 48 DÁrchiac Drive, Lake Tekapo. Our office is on the right just as you drive in, next to the Go Tekapo office. If you expect to arrive after 17:00, please contact us in advance to arrange key collection, using the contact details found on the booking confirmation. The Cairns Alpine Resort Accommodations is located at 48 DÁrchiac Drive. The Mount John Homestead is the large white house behind the willow tree about 328 feet down the driveway on the right hand side. Please note that this property will not be serviced for the duration of your stay.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. A deposit may be required at the property.

Old and quirky. 3 fireplaces and yes we had all three going at one time just because I have never had a home that could do that.

So much to love! The size, the views to the garden/trees, ease of check in, spa (hot and ready) generosity of the host (fresh bread, eggs, butter, jam, milk), heaters turned on so it was warm on arrival, the interesting history, fireplace with plenty of wood, all the kitchen accoutrements we needed and the general comfort of the home — like you were staying at your best friend’s country home.

Hard to name anything since it’s such a great place! Minor point — access to the front door was a bit muddy (big rainstorm the day before).
