The Sanctuary

Tucked away in quiet neighborhood for good rest. Close to some quieter beaches and places like Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. Easy and beautiful drive to volcanoes national Park.

No oven, but hot plate provided that worked well.

Beautiful view. Loved the patio.

We missed having a freezer.

Beautiful location with an outstanding view of sunset over the ocean complete with birds & serenading frogs. Host was friendly & helpful. We liked that it was off the beaten path.

There's only limited fresh water on that side of the island so it is best to be conservative in water usage.

Le logement est spacieux, bien aménagé et très bien décoré. C'est très propre. La vue est magnifique.

Le logement se situe dans un lotissement, donc il faut faire attention au bruit le soir et le matin (un peu embêtant pour les arrivées et départs tardifs/très matinaux).

Cozy, comfortable and with a beautiful view. Nice touches like fluffy towels, a cooler for day use, ice maker, etc.

It was quiet and peaceful, the rooms offered a full suite of everything we needed to use on our trip. Beautiful surroundings. Loved the friendly outdoor cats that said hi to us.

Distance from Kailua Kona could’ve been mentioned, not just the grocery store. Also, the terrain/roads/driveway to get to the Sanctuary are extremely steep and windy, our rental struggled to make it in and out. The bed needs new sheets & pillows pretty badly. Lastly, the cleaning fee was rather steep.

The house is just amazing. Clean, tidy, warm and welcoming vibe. The garden is lovely, flowery and puts you truly at peace with the world. The view is also amazing! It is perfect if you want to stay away from very touristic areas but still be able to access main hiking/beaches as it is near some spectacular beaches. The host, Kabira, is sooo lovely and sweet, very helpful and caring. Super good vibe from her as well and I loved also her three cats that were coming downstairs to say hello from time to time.

There is nothing I did not like-someone might not like the fact that you need to be mindful of water usage because the house runs on rainwater only. I had absolutely no problem with it as I like to be as environmental friendly as possible and it was no big deal anyway. There is plenty of water for a shower and no problems of hot water. Water is also good to drink!

The property was conveniently and beautifully located. Peace, quiet, and stunning sunsets.
