Casa do Serrado

We spent a week in Madeira and mainly went hiking. It was a very nice place to stay. You have a great terrace with a beautiful view of the sea. The apartment was nicely furnished and very spacious. You could also relax at the end of the day after hiking. Overall it was great as expected. A rental car is of course necessary here. But you can easily park it in the garage or on the street. All in all, we can highly recommend the apartment.

There are a few minor comments that were not really decisive for us. - At check-in we stood in front of the apartment without anyone there and didn't get in at first, then someone came after 20 minutes. - In some places a few screws of drawers, cupboards etc. were loose (including the toilet brush), but also some knives were already quite unsharp. This was not tragic and the apartment was clean and tidy, but should be fixed in the longer term. - In the Booking.com description it said “additional toilet”, there was no such thing, only a toilet in the bathroom. But this is just a hint.

The location was great with beautiful views. It's very quiet and we could enjoy every part of the island easily by car. There is also a cool short Banana route close by the RB2 Vereda do Nateiro and other beautiful waterfalls at Ponta do Sol. The garage is a bit tricky if you have a low car. It has a nicely equipped kitchen. They had a welcome basket with fruits for us. It is ideal for a family or a group of friends. We would definitely choose the same place next time. It didn't have bath gel shampoo, but they provided us with a set of towels. Extra towels were provided as well, upon request. Our check in was after 16:00, but wasn't a big issue for us.

The place was perfect for our group. We enjoyed the view and it was larger than it looks in the photos. Overall great stay and would book again. Be aware though it is up a mountain and as such the views are amazing but driving to it is a little difficult however garage parking is provided.

Minor things, but some of the dish ware was a little dirty and the washing machine was difficult to use but really nothing that would stop me from booking again!

Very well equipped, modern and clean house. Huge terrace with a nice view. Indoor barbecue allows one to grill during bad weather (as we unfortunately had). Worth mentioning is a very comfortable bed in the main bedroom (as this was often an issue in other holiday homes I rented in the past). Parking on a very quiet street just outside the house. I highly recommend this place, but you should have a car as it is quite far from the "city".

Very friendly, thorough and clear communication from the host. Spacious apartment. Private garage with your own key or public street for parking. Kitchen with all the necessary equipment. Quiet location next to a small road with almost no cars passing by. Two radiators were available for heating, but we didn't use them due to warm weather. The host left us some fresh fruit and a bottle of water and wine as a welcoming gift :)

Perhaps there could have been more intense lighting inside the apartment for cooking in the evening, but this could also be up to personal taste.

Very clean and well-equipped house. Friendly staff who responded promptly to our requests.

Occasional noise from passing trucks when windows are open but not really bothersome.

Beautiful view from the terrace, very comfortable beds. Big living space. A lot of useful things for preparing meals that you can eat with a beautiful view on the terrace.
