Ironstone Cottage

Host communication and directions were brilliant. We loved the cottage, especially the private pool and lovely stoep.

If you want to experience the purest form of nature in this part of South Africa, as sights, sounds, atmosphere, this is the place. The cottage blends into nature while offering comfort, charm, and peace. With two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and a huge common area and kitchen, this place feels both homely and luxurious. It has a big yard, a lovely garden, a fireplace, a braai place and even a small pool. The journey there was special, too. We spotted plenty of animals along the way, and the sky that night was amazing. Not to mention the sounds of nature. This place offers so much comfort while keeping you connected to the outdoors. Clear WhatsApp instructions and friendly communication with the owner made everything smooth and easy. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night and we can’t wait to return for longer.

Spiders

We were lucky enough to be there for the last super moon of 2025 and it was spectacular. We stayed for 2 nights, so the 2nd night was a sky full of stars viewed from around the firepit. Absolutely magical! And the beds were super comfy. Can't wait to come back.

There were a few squeaky doors 😖 If I had brought my Q20 I would have sorted them out as Will and Niles are busy farmers.

Lovely spot on a farm, a little gem in the Karoo! Perfect hosts and lovely home-grown meat to Braai. Hosts helped us to find hiking route around their farm.

Everything was perfect- maybe some outside sun loungers on the fabulous veranda!
