Ironstone Cottage

The wide open space outside. The farm environment and the bed was very comfy.

There was a camera on the porch. Made us feel uncomfortable. Not sure if it was switch on or not but still..

Niles, our host contacted us prior to arrival with excellent direction instructions and key collection. We were also able to purchase grass fed, organic meat at a very reasonable price. This was an added bonus.

A better heating system, could have made our stay more comfortable. It was an extremely cold night and the split system was not very effective. We were not sure whether the internal wood fireplace was useable.

Beautiful surroundings, very clean and well equipped cottage. We really enjoyed the tranquil surroundings and the spacious rooms.

The remote location was excellent. Unfortunately We could not make full use of this as one of our party was injured and it was very wet

Two minor issues - 1 The beds are too soft - with an already injured back I slept very badly - the soft bed exacerbating the injury - and could hardly walk in the morning. 2 The road - while remote and expected to be a bit rough, was passable as I was driving a 4x4 SUV, but a small car would have battled as the road was extremely muddy. Suggest a warning be posted
