Quinta da Mafalda

I liked the territory, my spacious room, and thousands of old, beautiful, sometimes strange things. I spent around an hour just to see all the things in common spaces. And I loved the piano and the fireplace. I mean, this is the kind of place you would like to go with your friends to have private times in comfort and peace with many deers (and also gooses and goats) walking around. The territory is outstanding, with a little lake and a tree-house. The breakfast was also good. Oh, and I loved the full-sized window, huuuuge bed, and a big smart TV - amazing!

it could be a bit cleaner

Nothing.

We booked and didn't stay when we got there. In short, payment in advance so you have no recourse, bathroom door frames so rotten they also had holes, a blown mirror, dirty grout, a remote control with a broken front that we were expected to put our finger through to use and generally a poor standard in and out.. But the real disappointment is that Booking.com supported the hotel in my complaint and continue to market them.

The surroundings are good but the building, WC, tree house and the swimming pool are not in good shape.

One of the owners was violent with a family member, even after several attempts to calm down that person. After this episode, we left the building due to the lack of security.

The room was large. The animals were cute!

Mildew and musty smell in main areas. Did not use the main areas...very run down.

Very nice isolated hotel with deer and ducks walking around the territory. Deer are very friendly and not afraid of people. Swimming pool is heated to at least 27 degreed, so really bath temperature. There is a nice playground for children (best suitable for 3+ years), main house also includes a gaming room with a pool table. There is a lake on the territory (beautiful, but I do not think you can swim there). Overall a very unusual and nice experience, definitely worth a visit.

The hotel itself seems quite old and in some places it is starting to show. There is mildew in the room, the furniture is a bit random (for example we had a library index card cabinet in our room). The breakfast (7 EUR per person) was not great, not a single hot dish and when we asked the host for an omlet, she said they do not have any extra eggs. We were the only guests in the hotel (5 rooms in total), and the host left home in the evening. Depending on your character it can be either exciting or a bit creepy, you can decide for yourself ;)

Wonderfully friendly host, wonderful scenery and lovely animals roaming the property.

I love the place, being around the animals and nature.
