"Fantastic"

10.0

The accommodation was as described but looked far better than the pictures. A great welcome from the owners and unexpected extras in the way of coffee machine and supplied breakfast/milk etc. Cleanliness was immaculate and the views from the lounge (chalet at end of garden) were fantastic. Perfect location with a great Nepalese restaurant/Pub about 10 mins walk away. Close to the village and an easy trip to Stratford or other nearby locations and attractions. Will definitely stay there again.

Nothing!!

"An idyll in lovely countryside with the world's best hosts"

10.0

I am on a long road trip through France, Spain, Portugal and Ireland, but I never expected to find one of the most idyllic and unique places on my trip in Warwickshire. Just driving here you can tell something is different - the Birmingham agglomeration ends a few miles away, and you're in lush, rolling countryside. The Bijou Malthouse is a tiny little house in a small village, small but complete: nice kitchen (I cooked in it comfortably), good bathroom, comfy bed. Close to the historic town of Alcester, which is both cute and handy - good for the errands I had to run. Including a decent pub (Turks Head). Ten minutes walk away from Bijou is a pub called Ghurka Mother of all Hubcaps, or something like that. Very friendly, excellent beer, and very good Nepalese cuisine. This was an unexpected bonus. The most uniquely quirky thing is: the cosy cabin! You have to see it to believe it, but it's a wee cabin at the bottom of the hosts' garden with two settees, a gas heater, and an old-school sound system to play Roger's CD collection. I spent every evening there. But by far the best thing about the Bijou are the hosts. Susie and Rog are the most accommodating hosts I've ever met. I was there to deal with a dementia-addled aunt in the area and Susie bent over backwards to make my stay as relaxing as possible in the circumstances. And Rog let me ask him too many questions about his sound system :) I will soon (sadly) have no familial reason to return to this part of Britain. But I will find an excuse to come back anyway. A true idyll.

I'm sorry I had to leave :(

Lovely clean and cosy little place

Sineage needs to improve at the front of property as hard to see, particularly in the dark. The bathroom was cold after the first night
