Refúgio das Camélias

I received a friendly welcome, was given an introduction to the accommodation, was able to taste wine, and there was even fresh fruit, bread and cheese in the room on my first day. Besides that you had the opportunity to retreat to your room, but the hosts were always available for an open conversation and gave great recommendations. The room had everything you needed except for a hairdryer. There was a nice balcony and the bed was very comfortable. I had a wonderful vacation.

We had an exceptional stay at Refugio das Camelias. The warm welcome from Jeffrey set the tone for our visit, as he not only greeted us with a drink in their unique wine cellar but also shared stories and valuable recommendations about the island. Our room was lovely and spacious with a well-equipped kitchen including fresh bread and fruit, a charming balcony with a stunning view and a very large bed. The reading room, with two cozy chairs overlooking the breathtaking view, provided the perfect spot read our books as we enjoyed the sunset. Our three-day stay was incredibly comfortable, and the kindness of offering us a lift to our next destination was too kind.

My stay at Refugio das Camelias exceeded my expectations. The hosts were wonderful, very kind and helpful. Upon arrival, I received fresh fruit, some basic groceries, and a wonderful treat in the form of exquisite homemade wine! The room was very clean and comfortable, featuring a large bed, a private bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchenette. The room also had a balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains. Finding the property was easy despite the narrow and steep roads; from the roundabout in Fainal, there are signs indicating the remaining distance to the property. In my opinion, this is an ideal place to stay. Not only is the area beautiful, but it's also close to most of the island's stunning spots. Without a doubt, my next stay in Madeira will also be with you! Highly recommended.

We were warmly welcomed by our hosts and greatly appreciated their kindness through our stay. Whenever we needed something they helped us! The place is nested in the mountains and the views are beautiful ! Weather was bad for us but we can imagine how nice it feels on sunny days !

This family owned B&B is in a beautiful location, with stunning views. The studios are very private, and have balconies overlooking the mountains. The communal areas of the property include a ‘glass room’ and a cosy living room with fire. Both are gorgeous. The property layout gives a great opportunity to choose whether to keep yourself to yourself, or to mingle with others. The family are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Id recommend this place to anyone.

Nice terrace for sitting with food and wine. Beautiful common room to relax. Very friendly hosts indeed. You felt like you were staying with friends.

There were a few small things missing in the kitchen and the TV could use an upgrade.
