Fair View Cottage

The cottage had everything we needed, very spacious with a good bed and bathroom. Lovely breakfast was included and the staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly.

Only downside is the narrow street to access the property and the steep stairs to get up to the property too. Wouldn’t recommend for elderly or disabled.

Fair View Cottage is located in a beautiful garden a few minutes away from the city. It’s very clean. The Sri Lankan breakfast is very delicious. Perfect laundry service. Wifi is good. The host is super helpful and kind. Quality feels more Europian than Sri Lankan. It is not cheap, but it’s a quality accomodation. We wanted to stay an extra night, but they were fully booked.

The cottage is located almost in the forest and far from other cottages so it’s peaceful and private The host offered to provide a transfer to the cottage

My boyfriend was hit by an electric shock while taking a shower. The water heating mechanism is completely unsafe. When we wanted to check out after this incident, the host insisted that it was our fault.

The cottage is located in a side street FROM ella. This makes it very quiet and you don't notice the hustle and bustle of the city. But you can be in the city centre in 5 minutes on foot. The cottage is small but very well equipped and everything you need is there. Everything was very clean and very comfortable. The WLAN also worked really well. Breakfast is served directly on the terrace and it was one of the best of our entire trip. Everything is freshly prepared and you can order either a Sri Lankan or an English breakfast.
