"Wonderful Experience"

We had a wonderful family vacation! Our stay was very comfortable, and we loved the ambiance of the place, especially the beautiful heritage architecture. The location was excellent, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Mr. Gopa Kumar, Manager of the property explained the history of Chettinad and the village and gave us a guided tour of the property. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience culture, history.

Authentic Chettinad mansion experience. Large room and good amenities. Common areas are relaxing and provide the early 1900’s vibe. Friendly staff.

Chettinad Palace not open to visitors even though google search says it is - very disappointing. Can hear the noise from neighbouring rooms.

Lovely property that feels a little worn out and run down in some places, a little lick of paint and varnish to restore it to its original condition would make a huge improvement. Quirky bathrooms- accommodation is only on the 1st floor, no lift, if travelling with seniors this can be tricky. And the attached bathroom is another 4 steps up from the room. Some may find it a tad inconvenient. The video presentation was an eye opener to the history of the Chettiar community. Food was very tasty- dinner and the breakfast, staff helpful.

Attention to little details will improve the guest experience- shower curtain that falls short of the floor and results in water splashing in the dry area, fragrance diffusers in the bathrooms to mask the damp smell, provision of hand towels in addition to bath towels, quieter pedestal fans, toilet tissue of a better quality. For the price charged , one would expect these things to be in place.
