Exceptional experience to stay at The Vine House. A small boutique Quinta with luxury rooms and attentive and welcoming staff. We were treated to a port tasting as part of our stay. Wish we had stayed a few nights rather than just one.

The restaurant is on the expensive side but comes with great views and ambience on the patio over the river.

Es war wunderschön, ruhig und landschaftlich beeindruckend. Auch das Essen im Restaurant war sehr gut und regional, nicht ganz billig aber für die Qualität durchaus im Rahmen. Wir bekamen sogar ein kostenloses Zimmer-Upgrade, die Terrasse mit Blick auf den Duoro haben wir dann ausgiebig genutzt. Auch die für Hausgäste kostenlose Führung durchs Weingut war fein.

The breakfast was good. The location was excellent.

A few more items on the buffet perhaps and available at 8 instead of 8 30.

The vineyard and complimentary tasting was a great introduction to the Douro Valley. The view from the patio was beautiful and peaceful.

Restaurant food - both dinner and complimentary breakfast were disappointing. Breakfast was basic and the coffee from a machine was the worst we had in Portugal. Expect packaged cereal/yogurts and some continental style food (scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, bread). Pool was not clean and not heated so not useable in April even though air temperature was warm.
