Recantos do Castanheiro

What can I say, just perfect. Spacious double bedroom with en-suite and shower, views overlooking the sea. Living area downstairs, a patio with table and chairs outside and a separate kitchenette with everything you could want. Property also has electric gates which helps with security and privacy.

The only downside was the location as it’s a little out of the way but the pros massively outweighed this! It’s still really accessible but I was literally driving all over the island so when you are coming and going 4/5 times a day it’s more noticeable.

Very spacious and clean accommodation, three big double bedrooms with living area and fully equipped kitchen. Private secure carpark for three cars with automatic gate. Lovely garden with flowers and tropical plants. Good location, just a few minutes drive from Porto Moniz and easy access to main roads. The host, Seline was very helpful, hospitable and look very well after us. She treat us with local wine and homemade local food. We had an amazing time at “Recantos do Castanheiro” and looking forward for our next visit there. Highly recommended

Can't think of any negatives about the property

We ejnjoyed our stay so much. Great choice! Very nice apartment, well equipped kitched, beautiful garden and terrace, spacious parking on the property, levadas in walkable distance, two local stores less than a minute walk. Kids loved especialy the garden and space. Houselord Celina is great lady, always joyful and willing to help.

I strongly recommend this place. I enjoyed my time at Recantos. The hospitality was wonderful. The fully equipped kitchen is an advantage. Celina was always ready to help.

The accommodation was very nice and spacious. The views were very good. The kitchen was well equipped. We were also given a freshly baked christmas cake, which was delicious. Lots of great walks nearby. The owners were great and accommodating.

Great location, above the main town of Porto Moniz, lovely and peaceful. Definitely need a car for this place, as would be difficult to get to with public transport. Hosts were lovely, great communication. Unfortunately there had been wild fires just before I arrived, the host let me know as soon as it happened and gave me the chance to cancel for free due to limited services, ended up cancelling 1 week but going for the second, with a full refund for the first week.

The only negative was the WiFi was a bit patchy, but I think this was due to the recent wild fires.
