A clean large simple room with large bed and extra bed for son. The owners are very sweet and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. The views are stunning it’s a 50-1000 roupee tuk tuk to town or you can walk along railway track.

Very beautiful place outside the busy city centre ! A lovely place with spacious clean rooms and a large balcony with a stunning view on Ella’s mountains. The staff is very kind and the breakfast is delicious. We really appreciated the localisation that was a perfect start point for all the famous and beautiful hikes in Ella !

20 minutes by walk from the city center. But completely worth it if you’re looking for a quiet place with a stunning view on Ella’s mountains. That’s something that you can’t easily have if you’re located in the busy center :)

My stay at this place was truly unforgettable! Perched on the hills of Ella with a jaw-dropping view over the valley and a nearby waterfall, this hotel was wonderful, and waking up to that panorama every morning was pure magic. The homemade breakfast was exceptional (hearty Sri Lankan favorites like egg hoppers, coconut pancakes, fresh fruit, and local specialties) all served on the terrace with that incredible backdrop. My room was clean, comfortable, and the balcony was the perfect peaceful retreat. The family-like hosts were warm, attentive, and made me feel completely at home from day one. If you're searching for a serene escape with stunning views and delicious home-cooked breakfasts, Chamodya is an absolute gem.

WiFi can be a bit slow at times, and getting to the property requires a 10–15 minute uphill walk from the center—but the stunning view at the top makes it totally worth it. The houses are designed with open vents for natural airflow; as long as you're mindful with the mosquito nets, it's easy to keep mosquitoes, bugs, lizards, and other critters out.

The location and views from balcony were lovely. The flora and fauna around was magical. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Tea served in china teapots was perfect. Staff were helpful

Woke up before daybreak and just listen to the sounds of nature. Walk along the railway track to the centre of town, a unique experience. Homemade egg hoppers that need at least 2 hours to be freshly made. Exhilarating tuk tuk ride to and from this lovely place. Swapped inconsequential life stories with our hostess as we learn more about each other’s life experiences.

Solar powered water heater only works well if you are the only guest at this 5-room property.

The most amazing homestay in Sri Lanka! We spent 5 nights here (extended our stay). The location is perfect - about a 10 min walk into town along the tracks. The view is amazing overlooking Ella rock and extremely peaceful. The room is spacious and clean - the bathroom is basic but clean and has hot water for those colder nights in Ella. The family that run the accommodation are very kind and also serve an excellent breakfast. I hope to return one day!
