Casas de Pousadouro was a serene oasis hidden in the most stunning Douro Valley! The view from our "Rock House" was absolutely breathtaking and the team maintains the property beautifully. The pool, train bridge, and Douro river make for a perfect backdrop for photos. The lodging was clean, airconditioned, and comfortable. Activities ranged from paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, lounging, and day trip excursions to incredible wine vineyards for tasting. The best part about the property had to be its manager, Juliana. The sweetest person with a welcoming smile who was beyond helpful with arranging anything we asked. There is no restaurant at the hotel but Juliana provided fresh bread and breakfast items each morning and had the most amazing dinner delivered each night for easy relaxing. We could not recommend this place more for families, groups, or couples!!

Gorgeous, relaxing, picturesque property in the Douro Valley nestled in the valley on an offshoot from the Douro River.

The grounds and view of the property are absolutely amazing! There are many water activities possible on the little lake which connects to the Douro River. The staff is extremely nice and very accommodating.

It is difficult to get to - but with the help of the staff, it’s no problem at all!

Really nice place and a beautiful view to the river at a very special location. The staff is very nice and helpful. When driving to the location it's better to use road M581. The shortest path from N108 is really steep and narrow.

Casas de Pousadouro is the perfect place to get off the beaten track and unwind from daily responsibilities. It is a gem in Douro Valley and has scenic views from every window and spot in the garden. The staff is very welcoming and created a safe and positive atmosphere already on our arrival. They were very helpful with every problem that we had and were kind enough to give us plenty of recommendations for our stay. The property itself is spotless and is being cleaned every day and the rooms and houses are very stylish with modern equipment. We also got breakfast delivered to our house every morning. Overall we had a marvellous time in Casas de Pousadouro and we can't wait for our next visit there! Thank you!

When we decided to spend some days in Douro, we analyzed hotels that could offer a calm atmosphere but also some activities beside a swimming pool. Despite being a lit bit expensive we had no doubts in choosing Casas de Pousadoro because it had all: an apartment exclusively for you; has direct access to Douro river; offers you the possibility of kayaking or paddling in the River; allows you to explore Douro area with its attractions. Arriving there it’s not easy (narrow roads, ups and downs; you will definitely need a GPS), but that is a characteristic of all main spots in Douro. But once you’re there it’s worth the journey! The place is located next to a small arm of Douro River framed by an incredible landscape. It is characterized by 3 apartments and the Yellow house, all surrounded by beautiful gardens, the swimming pool, the decks and the small private port. Our apartment, Casa da Pedra, was very large with two rooms, two bathrooms and an open concept with living room and kitchenette. Breakfast was served in a private area in the garden just for us (every apartment has its own), with an amazing river view. Staff was really nice and efficient, and made has felt very welcomed. Casa de Pousadouro is a treasure in Douro area, and we look forward to coming back and have a wonderful time again!

This place is fabulous. I couldn’t find a better place. I was looking for a quiet hotel so I could rest by the river, but having the chance to go and visit different cities in the north. From the beginning until the very last minute, everything was superb. On arrival, the host showed me to my ‘house’ and introduce the basic, give you some indications what you could do in the area and in the surrounding areas. Diana was amazing. What have I loved about this place? The simplicity, there is no need more to impress the guests. You’re next to the river, a beautiful view at any point of the day. All the comunal areas are lovely, tidy. The house: SPOTLESS. I have stayed at Piloto house, which is the largest of the houses, you sit in the living room and you just admire the view, you can even listen to the birds. The room was great, with a massive window to the river side too. Clean everyday. The breakfast: TOP! They’ll serve you freshly squeezed orange juice, and these gorgeous bread just out of the oven, butter and this amazing cheese. There is not a thing that I have not enjoyed in this place. I don’t normally review my stays but I can tell all the hard work this place have. Because there is not such a personalised service like this one in any of the big 4* and 5* hotels, because there are so many people visiting this places that you’re just a number. At casas de Pousadouro they know you, they acknowledged you and you really feel like home. Thank you very much for this marvellous 5 days. Big shout out to Diana and Adelaide, you’re an asset to this business. Hopefully I will visit this place soon.

Casas de Pousadouro is a truly incredible place to stay! Everything about it is perfect: the location, the houses, the staff and the atmosphere in general. It’s surrounded by picturesque nature: beautiful views of the river Douro and hills. It’s a relaxing place: very calm, quiet and peaceful. The houses are super comfortable and well-equipped with everything you need. Breakfast is brought in the morning as you wake up - warm bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, yogurt… You can also order the lunch or dinner from a local restaurant. A lot of activities are offered such as swimming in the pool or in the river, kayaking or paddleboarding, a boat trip, visiting wineries and tasting local wine, hiking or biking. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always ready to help or give some advice. The owner is absolutely fantastic, he immediately makes you feel comfortable and at home, contributing to a even more pleasant stay.  I strongly recommend recommend this place to everyone! I would definitely go back!

Amazing place to have relax. Very calm and unique. But here you can also visit nice cities around, taste wines at the caves, eat delicious food. Houses are so stylish with beautiful view. Loved staying here. Definitely recommend!
