Quinta do Valdalágea

It is so peaceful set in the gorgeous vineyards of its Quinta. We loved it, and the area. Breakfast was beautifully served. Pool was kept cool which was perfect for the summer heat. Very clean, highly recommend. When arriving our sat nav took us up a dirt track but easy to see on main road through a tunnel

Super vriendelijke eigenaresse en haar dochter, geweldig lekker en persoonlijk ontbijt. Heerlijke kamer met een fijn bed, super schoon en netjes. Je kunt de lokale wijn proeven en het uitzicht is heel erg mooi.

Het was jammer dat er buiten (het was nog vroeg in het seizoen) nog niet echt de mogelijkheid was om daar te zitten en het zwembad was nog dicht terwijl wij overdag zeker even lekker buiten hadden willen zitten.

Beautiful views over the vineyards. Great small pool with pool area that was so lovely to use. We also did a tasting which was super informative and fun. The main town is only a 10 minute/10euro taxi ride away so you don’t have to drive. The breakfasts each morning were large and really delicious, they have eggs and also bread, cheese, meat options. The fresh fruit they provided was especially appreciated. Charming staff that did their very best to make your stay comfortable.

My room’s AC broke on the first night I was there during a 33 degree/90 F period. There was no maintenance that could fix this on the weekend so it was really hot and uncomfortable unfortunately. I contacted the main office and expected a small discount considering they also couldn’t change my room. However none was offered. This was probably a freak occurrence, but it did impact my stay significantly. Another note is that the town nearby is really small, not a ton of options for restaurants and bars. It is best to have a car, or to enjoy the beautiful view and eat in.

Do NOT use Google Maps to get to the Quinta unless you want to risk your life driving on the Camino Santiago walking path - make sure to take the road out of Régua to get there!

The property was located on a hillside near Regua. It is a working winery with a small number of rooms. The staff was attentive and accommodating. Breakfast was delightful with many choices.
