Valcastagno Relais & Residence

+Staff was friendly, kind and very proactive in providing information on where to go to beach, where to eat, what to see....Place itself is lovely - away from city noise. The kitchen was quite good equipped. There is a offer of local beach service to make a stop here with a BUS and then can take you to some private beach like San Michele or Da Silvio - which is lovely place. You just need to pay 18 EUR per day to rent a 2 beds and umbrella on the private beach --> then the BUS is for free. We were surprised there was almost on insect during our stay but the nets were in every window anyway. -In hot days the air conditioning was missing - night okay but between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. it was very hot inside. It would be great to install at least the fan. The kitchen desk was very small so not comfortable for meal preparation. Breakfast was typical Italian - so more or less just sweet - do NOT expect eggs or bacon - but this is not negative comment just the fact.

Lovely B&B with well appointed rooms and great breakfasts. Great location to explore the area which we did on bikes. Friendly and helpful with the best cappuccino for breakfast. They even threw in afternoon tea which was an unexpected surprise.

Lovely farmhouse conversion run by a young, friendly family, with a fantastic breakfasts sourced from local farmers... wish we had had time to try the massages etc they offer... They offered great recommendations of local restaurants. Near to national park on coast. Very good value - a much better option than over-priced Sirolo hotels.

We spent 2 nights there in May and were delighted with the property. The property is clean, has fantastic views of the surrounding hills, and close to the towns and beaches. The owners were very helpful with things to do and directions. The breakfast is very good with cheese, meats, bread, cakes and wonderful coffees.

I spent 2 nights in Valcastagno with my girlfriend. Our room was really really nice, comfortable and clean. We had the opportunity to sleep very well even if we were there at the beginning of August and the temperature outside was very hot. Also the location of the Relais is perfect, as it is 10 minutes by car from Numana's beaches, but in a very quiet area in the middle of the hills. Hotel's personnel was very kind and responsive.

We spent two nights here midweek and were the only two people in the whole place. Overall, this is a very lovely spot and we enjoyed our time in the area. The facility needs a few tweaks and it would be excellent. The room was nicely furnished with at least one reading lamp by the bed. The wifi was non existent outside of the lobby area. The refrigerator was on the warm side. The shower was on the cool side, even with only the hot tap turned, I couldn't get more than tepid water. I couldn't figure out how to make the jacuzzi tub work. The breakfast was fine and I enjoyed the espresso. The innkeeper was kind and friendly without being intrusive. He was also kind enough to make dinner reservations for us.

150€ per night, no AirCon, no pool, even for Italian hotels a basic frugal breakfast with zero local products and no fresh fruits, no real view on the countryside. Very nicely refurbished, nice rooms, good quiet location.

Just two nights at Valcastagno, we wanted to explore the Conero peninsula, even if it was too cool to enjoy local beaches. Valcastagno is an enchanting place just 3 km far from the sea, very close to Numana and Sirolo, with 8 rooms and apartments. We booked a double room, that was very nice and flawless. And a rich, abundant breakfast was included. We didn't try any special treatment offered in the underground wellness center but we borrowed two of the bikes available to enjoy the green and luxuriant countryside (with signs for paths). Very kind and helpful staff. I would suggest to everybody to book a room there.. but not the one close to the hall, too noisy; rooms on the first floor, with balcony, are much better.
