"Beautiful building, only downside is the location"

The lady who hosted me was very kind and helpful. The room had a small heater, and many blankets, all of which were welcome at night time. For the price, the room and facilities are excellent, and it is very characterful. Very good WiFi too. There is also a small kitchen were you can prepare food or heat water.

I guess if you book to stay in this village, you do so for a reason (I was there for work purposes), it is a small village. However, the bigger problem was finding it in the first place - the taxi driver had some difficulty finding it, and even more difficulty driving up the steep hill to its entrance. If you are a tourist, I would recommend staying in Otavalo.
