Casa do Passadiço - Alvarenga

The house was beautiful, and the location and surroundings were even prettier.

The room could have an air conditioner. It was too hot at dawn. We had to open up the door to the outside to freshen up.

Quite peaceful rural location. Good friendly host. Would recommend and stay again

It is a bit hard to get to Alvarenga , using those local , curvy and steep roads , but it is a completely different part of Portugal - so green and quiet -we loved it. The accomodation is good , rural home made of stones with a tasty decoration inside. Beds are comfortable , bathrooms are clean and it is so quiet there ( we liked it after staying in Lisbon and Portimao). Short distance to Passodico do Paiva and 516 Arouca Bridge. Breakfast -something between southern and northern European style - anyway you will not leave hungry! For a dinner or lunch- we visited twice Casa de Bifes Caetano, ca 5-6 minutes walk - fantastic quality to price ratio !!!

Very narrow and steep roads to get there and Google Maps sometimes struggle to give correct path , but once you see the locals go through driving a bigger car , it's easier...

Our room was so comfortable we had our private exit door.

Breakfast was simple, and we had to ask for something to be charged!

Lack of Air Conditioning, the room was very hot.

Great location if you plan to do the 516 Bridge (15 min walk). Shared spaces, the small patio garden, the kitchen . Very nice breakfast. Lovely hosts! The village itself is very nice and peaceful., 5 min walk from grocery store

In one of the rooms the wifi was weak

Breakfast was good, they didnt have vegan options the 1st day, except for the fruits and bread. But they did got plant based milk, and other options for the 2nd day, after asking the owner. The hotel was very clean and excellent located for the Bridge 516 and Passadicos trail

The beds were not comfy and the rooms didnt have AC, only 1 mini bottle of shower gel for 2 people, they got us some 2 more after asking the owner.

a beautiful tasteful decorated house. It has 11 rooms we were the only guests and could enjoy the relaxed and quiet environment
