La Fattoria Dei Nonni

La Fattoria dei Nonni is an Agriturismo with a big “A”, in the country area outside Catania. My husband and I (an italo-Danish couple) have been at the “La Fattoria dei Nonni” for two days and we loved it! It is situated strategically close to Catania airport and to Etna valley, from where one can easily access any destination in the North-East Sicily. The rooms and all facilities around are very clean, functional and decorated with attention to the details respecting the history of the place. The view to Etna and to the sunsets from the cozy swimming pool should not to be missed, especially while drinking a glass of wine or, even better, eating one of the many delicious dishes, which are prepared by Francesco, Anna and all the staff with love and passion for traditional Italian (mostly Sicilian) recipes and importantly with local seasonal ingredients. Thank you, Francesco and Angela, for your generosity in welcoming us and all guests. Your genuine wish to give a fantastic time to all your guests is a bless!! You are really kind persons always ready to help any guest if/when needed. We highly recommend this place and we are looking forward to be back next time we will be in Sicily. P.S. Our last night in Sicily and we had such a lovely stay. The pool was gorgeous and Francesco brought us delicious fresh squeezed oranges from the farm and cold watermelon while we relaxed on shady day beds. He then recommended a great Pizzeria in nearby Paterno and when we were super early for breakfast due to early flight he brought us the most delicious breakfast with a smile (more of that orange juice, pistachio croissants ham mozzarella fruit bread and homemade jam and great coffee. As we left he hosed down our filthy car and waved us on our way. Honestly we couldn't have asked for more! Oh! and a view of Etna in the distance and fabulous sunset over the pool!

The room and bathroom large and spotless. The host extremely welcoming and communication excellent. Food very nice, we were treated to a lovely lunch and dinner and breakfast huge

The communal areas in need of a little tender loving care. This is a large place and a bit shabby in parts.

Located on the lower slopes of Etna with good views of Etna and lovely far reaching views of the countryside to the south and west. The owners were friendly and welcoming. The rooms are located in little buildings around the site and are quiet and private. The pool was a good size but unfortunately it was too cold to use.

Our room was rather dark as no window in the bedroom area, just the solid wooden door. We stayed in early April so maybe the site hadn’t been prepared for the summer season as it was rather untidy and run down in places. Definitely more homely than luxury. The food was nice but generally our one night stay felt rather expensive for what we had.

The host made us feel so welcome and took great pride in showing us around the farm. The stay was a little slice of paradise. Home cooked meals were a highlight.

As Franco says, this is his 'little bit of paradise'... and it is. His welcome was very warm, the backdrop of Etna spectacular and the breakfast and dinner delicious !!

Our best stay in sicily! Francesco is so welcoming and the facilities are great. Large swimming pool, bar, playground. The room was really confortable with the best beds we had in Sicily. Francesco took us for a coffee at 6.00 am on our way to the airport and offerted us some treats as well as fresh fruits to taste. Really welcoming place!
