"Awful, awful,awful"

Location was good

Rooms needed deep clean. Mattress was old and VERY uncomfortable. Room smelled of sewage. No cold water from the tap to brush teeth. Unable to use shower as horrendously loud and no hot water after running for several minutes. Very hot room( appreciate it was a warm night, but no fan?) 1 thin pillow on bed. Towels had seen better days. Check in was not great, called and texted no answer. Lady came after about 25 minutes. Complained to booking.com to be told that the hotel takes no responsibility for this dreadful stay!!!!!! Disgraceful.

"If the pool had not been there we would have left."

The kids loved the swimming pool, but at an extra £48 on top of our booking. NOT WORTH IT.

The first night the room was not suitable for a family of 3, the mattress under the bed was so full of dust we didn’t use it and my son had to sleep on the floor. fortunately The host moved us for the second night. A second family turned up, after paying online but didn’t stay for long. The state of the property isn’t great. Maybe a few years ago- but right now it more like an HMO than a hotel/air bnb

I am very disappointed with my experience and feel that communication from the host was extremely poor from start to finish. I booked this property for a group of eight women who were staying overnight before an early 5:00am flight from Gatwick Airport. Prior to arrival, I emailed the host asking how check-in would work, as members of our group would be arriving at different times. I received no response. I also sent a WhatsApp message the day before our stay and again received no reply. I have screenshots of these messages. On the day of arrival, one of my friends was unable to access the property, so I tried calling the host. There was no answer. Eventually, a friend who was already at the property managed to locate the host and called me so I could speak with her directly. Unfortunately, the conversation was extremely unpleasant. The host was rude, repeatedly talked over me, and was not helpful when I was trying to resolve a simple issue. She asked for a booking reference number, but at the time I could only find my Booking.com confirmation number and PIN code. When I asked where I could locate the reference number, rather than assisting me, she responded in a dismissive manner and complained that she would have to search for the booking herself. At the time of the call, I was also caring for my newborn baby and was under considerable stress trying to organise the stay for our group. Instead of helping, the host made the situation more difficult. The host also repeatedly questioned who would be staying at the property and insisted she needed the names of all guests. I explained several times that I was happy to provide this information and had no issue with the request. My concern was simply that there had been no clear process on Booking.com for submitting the names in advance. Despite this, she continued repeating the same point and would not allow me to speak.

"Gatwick airport North terminal guesthouse."

The location is 5 minutes from North Terminal, excellent if you need to crash near the airport. Joanne is so friendly and supportive. The garden is amazing. Good value for the money. I booked the room and in within 1h when I arrived, I had already rhe room ready. You have a kettle, toaster, microwave, fan (was so hot outside) and fridge in the room. As well tea and coffee.

Gar nichts.

Alles. Sowas dürfte nicht angeboten werden. Katastrophaler Zustand. Haben diese Unterkunft 1 Stunde nach Ankunft wieder verlassen. Überall riecht es nach altem Urin. Badezimmer einfach nur ekelhaft, da sind die Toiletten auf den Bahnhöfen sogar noch sauberer.

Only the pool works because nothing else works!

(Complain) We would like to formally raise a complaint regarding our stay at Hazelwick. Unfortunately, several important issues have significantly affected the quality of our stay and the accommodation provided did not meet reasonable expectations based on the listing. Firstly, the cottage itself did not appear to have been properly cleaned upon arrival, which immediately gave us concerns regarding the overall condition and maintenance of the accommodation. In addition, the jacuzzi/spa facilities were not in a clean and usable condition. We spent over two hours attempting to clean the jacuzzi ourselves in order to use a facility that was advertised as part of the accommodation experience. After this time and effort, we were informed that we were no longer permitted to use the hot water for the jacuzzi because other guests had reportedly complained that their showers became cold while the jacuzzi was being used. This situation caused considerable disappointment, especially for the children, who had spent time helping clean the jacuzzi and were very excited to use it. Later, without the knowledge of the adults, the children managed to turn the hot water back on themselves, which understandably upset the owner further. However, when we attempted to calmly explain the situation and discuss everything reasonably, we did not feel that our concerns were properly heard or considered, despite one member of our group speaking fluent English and trying to communicate clearly. Secondly, none of the showers inside the cottage we booked are functioning properly. While we appreciate that an alternative bathroom outside the cottage was offered, this does not fully replace the private bathroom facilities that were expected as part of the cottage accommodation we specifically paid for. In addition, the cottage itself does not contain a fridge inside the accommodation.
