Ballyteige Lodge

We liked nearly everything: The owner Sean, the history of the 1890 house and estate, the quiet sizable suites with blackout curtains, (though no ensuite baths), the hike around the 20 acre estate, the 2 donkeys, the simple and delicious breakfast, and getting to meet others on holiday. Also, the GMO Free status.

The estate is a little tricky to find without GPS. Look for the GMO Free Zone sign just after the entrance gate.

Wunderschönes, geschichtsträchtiges Anwesen, was keine Wünsche offen lässt. Sean hat sich wundervoll um uns gekümmert.

Le cadre enchanteur, l'intérieur magnifique digne d'un catalogue des plus belles maisons d'Irlande. Tout est recherché, soigné.

Une seule douche pour plusieurs hôtes à partager.

Wunderbares Haus auf einem riesigen, fast märchenhaften Grundstück. Toller Gastgeber und super Frühstück im Wintergarten.

Die Zimmer haben nur ein Gemeinschaftsbad. Das geht aus der Beschreibung nicht hervor.

Beautiful former hunting lodge, a building with lots of character.

It was so nice the house the suspension bridge across the street into the forest with a waterfall. And the huge concrete plunge pool along side the river. Made me very envious. I don’t usually covet other people’s stuff. BUT I wish I owned that place!!!

Fantastiek locatie, het huis, de tuin de omgeving is kortom adembenemend. We zijn maar een nacht gebleven maar het was grandioze. Ook heel goede tip voor diner. Wandelen in de tuin (lees park) was heel mooi. Hij is express voor ons vroeg opgestaan om de ontbijt te maken. Heel erg bedankt.

Geen winkel in de buurt om eten te kopen. De ontbijt was niet heel uitgebreid, was oke.

Beautiful surroundings and decoration. Great host that provided local tips that made our stay even better. Dog friendly.
