Ballyteige Lodge

As anticipated, the location was a woodsy, natural location away from any city or village. We enjoyed following a stream to a waterfall on the property and just having a pleasant walk in nature. Our host Sean was pleasant and served a good breakfast, eggs, yogurt, cereals, juice, toast, tea and coffee. The room was adequate and had a charm reminiscent of a bygone era. The grounds are well-kept and with flowering plants and shrubs everywhere. Rescue donkeys paid us a visit in the morning. The nearest and only pub/restaurant in Glenmalore is about 15 Km away. We had eaten before arrival and did not check out the local pub.

There are two bathrooms that are shared. One has a tub but no shower and one does have a shower. Everything seems well-maintained, but nothing is new or modern. The 8/10 rating takes into account value proposition.

A very unique location and accommodation. A beautiful base for a walking holiday.

A beautiful house, comfortable bedroom, Sean was a great host and we got delicious breakfast in the morning.

There was no hairdryer, but we did not ask for it explicitely.

The Lodge is full of character, lots of history, and it is set on stunning land. The private forest area is absolutely beautiful, with waterfall, little bridges and a fire pit. Sean was a great host, friendly, helpful, and had a wealth of knowledge.Thanks for a great stay would definitely go back!!
