The Grange

i booked the accommodation because i liked the photos and have always had good experiences in b&bs. However, the accommodation was very disappointing and didn't meet my expectations at all. The written communication in advance here was quite friendly. Unfortunately, I personally missed this warmth. I still found these things positive: - parking in front of the accommodation - bed was comfortable and the room was clean - the room and bathroom were relatively large

I didn't like these things at all: - My room had a window that opened onto a dining room or lounge where the family spent the evenings. Unfortunately, it was also quite loud when they were in there in the evening and you could hear every word. - For me, one of the most negative points was that I know from all B&Bs that they have a door code, hand out keys or digital cards to guests so that you can get into the accommodation at any time of day or night. Here I would actually have to mention what time I would be back in the evening so that they don't lock the front door. I didn't feel comfortable with that, how do you know how long an evening with friends will be... - As an allergy sufferer, you should know that there are dogs in the accommodation that like to scurry into the rooms when they are not closed - the breakfast was modest, there was yoghurt and some muesli, but it didn't look inviting and you could order toast. There was tea or coffee. Theoretically, you could have ordered a hot breakfast. Other guests did this, the host took the order and never came back with breakfast. Instead we sat together at the breakfast table for 45 minutes over coffee and watched as the kitchen was empty. The guests had never received the hot breakfast and it was simply forgotten. We were very surprised by this. - a small sign to the accommodation would have been helpful in front of the entrance - in the bathroom there was a door to the neighbour's room. This could have been included in the description, I personally found it unpleasant. - the light in the bedroom was very dim, there was no bright main light - the pillow did not smell fresh, probably the pillow case should be washed again

Location and the property were lovely. Tamsin was very welcoming and gave lots of ideas where to eat and visit.

The location is stunning: a large, beautiful house with large grounds. Breakfast was absolutely excellent and highly personalised. The owners are exceptionally charming and look after their guests very well indeed. There are also two wonderful dogs!

It was lovely. Charming hosts who looked after us brilliantly. We booked it last minute and were accommodating. The house itself is absolutely beautiful. So was the room.

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at The Grange. A very beautiful, tranquil place to stay. Our hosts were warm, welcoming and gave us excellent advice about the surrounding area. The communications was spot on, with very quick responses provided to any query. Although ours was a short stay we could have happily spent much a longer time there. Breakfast was perfect too. Highly recommended.
