Friendly staff, beautiful venue

I couldn’t get breakfast on site but there was a beautiful little place almost next door

Staff where friendly when I spoke to them. Location seemed nice.

The name of the property is a complete misnomer as it's not a B&B, there was no breakfast, nor the option of a breakfast. I left late in the evening without using any of the facilities for what was meant to be a two night stay. A speaker for the pub below was located right next to my bedroom window, with music blaring out from 5:30pm until at least 9:30pm when I'd had enough. I could hear EVERYTHING in the room next door to mine, occupied by an equally disgruntled guest. For such a peaceful location, I can imagine that the experience of sleeping there would be anything but. WiFi was rubbish.

I loved the general atmosphere - both the pub and the accommodation were old-fashioned without feeling old, almost like time travelling. The bed was super comfy and the room and bathroom were clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. There was complimentary mineral water, tea and coffee in the room. I had a large breakfast in the morning, and it was actually large - and very good. Next time I will go for the smaller one, but I've been to a few other places where large is nowadays what used to be small or standard, but not so here. The food in the restaurant was good, too. The choice of drinks was a bit limited and cider was quite expensive, but good. There was lots of live music on that night, and the place was buzzing. The place is located in a beautiful, rural area. I'm very much looking forward to coming back.

There was nothing that I did not like, I was super happy with the accommodation, but I'd like to mention a few things, as they may matter for other travellers. I stayed here in November/December, so it was fairly cold, but the radiator in my room didn't work (maybe there is a simple way to get it to work, but I actually prefer cooler rooms, so I didn't bother), and also Wi-Fi wasn't very good. There was live music that night until 1 o'clock or so, and it was clearly audible in the room (it was good music though, I enjoyed it). If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs or inquire first if there is any music while you're staying there - maybe other rooms are quieter. Other than that, it is a very quiet area. The stairs were quite steep, so if you struggle with stairs, this might be a bit difficult for you. There is a bus from Armagh bus station (towards Keady) and a bus stop almost right in front of the pub, however there are no buses on Sundays. The price for a taxi was crazy, would almost have been cheaper to stay for another night and take the bus on Monday morning. It's a long but very nice walk back into town (took me about two hours).

The food was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The apartment was quaint and homely. We had a fabulous time and would stay again.

The only complaint would be the room was quite cold at times.
