Sharlands Farm Bed and Breakfast

Rachel was extremely helpful and cooks a mean breakfast. Grandson got to feed the animals after breakfast and loved every minute of it. Location is superb and only 20 minutes from the beach in Bude. It was just a stopover, but we are certainly thinking of revisiting.

Very clean big room and wash room. Excellent host. Great breakfast. Quiet country side. Rachel and her partner were great to guide on our trip. Very patient with our check-in delays. Will definitely recommend to others and come back if we can.

A comfy chair could have been added to the bedrooms for reading. No complaints. There was a living room with full access.

We booked to stay here for 2 nights and found it very close to the beautiful village of Marhamchurch along a farm track and a short distance from Bude. We were greeted on arrival by the host Rachel and also some lovely curious chickens who surrounded our car. Our room was equipped with everything we needed and Rachel had baked us some lovely homemade cakes and flapjack which were in our room on arrival and the following day. The home cooked breakfast was lovely and fresh and Rachel kindly provided my partner with milk-alternatives as he is lactose-intolerant. She and Robert who we met the following day were both very friendly. After our breakfast we were offered an unexpected tour of their farm to meet all of the animals and it was such a lovely experience and an added bonus to be able to bottle feed their very cute lambs and feed their chickens, ducks, pigs and a goat. The tour was a uniquely memorable experience and we loved every minute. The farm is in a very peaceful and quiet area with beautiful open countryside. Nearby we found walks into Bude from Marhamchurch via the canal or a walk into Widmouth Bay. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back again in the future.

Tucked away down a gravel road with fields in all directions, a wonderful view and peaceful outlook. The room was clean and comfortable, but being an old house, went in all directions! Rachael was welcoming from the off, with clear directions and great comms before we arrived. She explained everything and then left us to our own devices. The room had tea and coffee (all good quality) and home baked cupcakes as well. Breakfast was superb, all home cooked and plentiful. Rachael bakes all her own breads and cakes, and it showed. I loved the walk around the animal pens to meet all the animals - all round a brilliant place to stay and I wish I could have stayed longer.
