A Barn at South Downs Stay

A beautifully converted barn making very comfortable accommodation. Lovely views of the Downs from the rooms. Everything is in place to make your stay enjoyable. The host is very friendly and she provides a lovely breakfast delivered to your room.

For my Dad’s 60th Birthday, I booked him and my mum a trip to the Observatory South Downs Stay as a gift. Susan and Robert have welcomed us and were super nice and friendly. They gave us all the info we needed regarding the room and the area. The room is spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped with everything one can think of. Susan puts attention to the smallest, and her home.made breakfast is the best we had. The view from the room is breathtaking! Cant wait to come back.

We loved the views from the Observatory, it’s such a cosy place with a huge amount of thought put into all the facilities. Having a cup of tea on the terrace looking at the incredible view was a pleasure as was seeing the stars after sunset. We also loved our host Susan who is the nicest person you’ll ever meet, so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable!!

Beautiful spacious barn with attention on every detail. Our room was large and bright with everything we could possibly need. The amazing breakfasts delivered every morning were a real treat. We are sad to leave but grateful we’ve had the chance to stay in such a wonderful place.

Nothing, it was perfect.

All was exceptional: the comfort & charm of the cottage, the astonishing view, the flower garden outside our door, the friendly hosts, the bed! And the Knepp Estate re-wilding project is 10 min away.

The barn was idyllic. Susan was lovely. Excellent location with loads to do and see. Breakfast was fab. Can't fault it... a wonderful weekend.
