Errington House

Lovely hosts,beautiful scenery, the house was very warm and comfortable as was the room. The breakfast was of a very high standard with a large selection of hot and cold options.

We were extremely well looked after by Carolyn and Lex Dowie who are very generous hosts. The house is charming, comfortable and beautifully warm (in contrast to our previous B and B!). Couldn’t recommend it more.

Carolyn and Lex were very welcoming and helpful hosts. The breakfasts were excellent, eaten at a large dining-room table which also accommodates other guests. The traditional farmhouse is set in pleasant countryside, along a very narrow and winding road off the A68, which goes through to the A6079 - so a bit more remote than we had realised, but we soon got used to it in driving to Hexham (about 15 minutes) or Corbridge (about 10 minutes) to explore these towns or to eat in the evening. (Carolyn has information about the best places to eat, including a good pub in Humshaugh, a short drive away.)

Nothing! We will hope to return here in better weather, to enjoy more of Hadrian's Wall.

Where do I start The hosts were wonderful, Lex picked us up from the Hadrian's Wall walk route and dropped us back to the route the next day We pre arranged dinner cooked by Carolyn which was excellent Their ,18,th century home is spacious clean and comfy. Our room even had a bath which was so welcome after long days walking I would always choose to stay here again if visiting the area by far the best stop off our trip

Nothing to dislike

Location was idyllic. Peaceful but close to local sites and not too far from Durham. Hosts were very helpful and suggested local places to eat and also helped with best routes to avoid traffic.

It was great no complaints.
