Location, cleanliness, lovely host, very hospitable and great breakfast. Suzy couldn’t do enough for us.

We liked the decor and spaciousness of the room and the fact that the adjoining bathroom had a bath tub and was inviting and well equipped. We greatly appreciated the effort of daily housekeeping over our three night stay which is now a rarity. The hosts were sincere and warm and we hope to return.

The property, being a cottage, is very quaint and olde worlde. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and the en suite bathroom was clean. There was a wide selection on the breakfast menu and it was delicious. Suzy, our host, was attentive and very friendly. Would highly recommend and we will definitely return.

It was fine

Our two days at Swan Cottage were a delight. Our hosts, Suzie and Colin, made sure we felt like we were staying with family in their 300 year old beautifully decorated home. Very spacious room with comfortable bed, arm chairs and sofa, television, wifi plus a very large bathroom e suite. The breakfast was huge and full of lovely options. A short walk past the quant village church to the pub for dinner. Parking onsite and of course two very friendly dogs to help make us feel at home. A perfect spot to explore York, Castle Howard and so many other local spots. We will be back.
