Westfield House Farm

The hut was well laid-out and had everything we needed for a short stay. There was wildlife on the doorstep and it was relatively private whilst in view of other huts and houses in distance. Total peace and quiet in the middle of the Northumbrian countryside.

There were maintenance (cooker and chair) and several cleaning issues. The bin area at the entrance was overflowing and messy so not the best first impression. Stove and ash bucket not emptied from previous visits and no response from owner about all this. Suggest speedier reaction to repairs and final checks before visitors arrive to ensure your guests have the best experience.

A nice and quiet place. There is plenty of storage space inside and the parking is very close.

This was an absolute gem! Cannot fault it one bit. Perfect for a couple's break away! So relaxing and peaceful, spotlessly clean and had everything you could need and more! The little welcome hamper with teas, coffees, jams, bread (and marshmallow for the fire), bread and milk, was a lovely little touch from the owners. The owners were not overbearing...did not meet one of owners (Tim) until we we were leaving and he was a lovely gentleman, very friendly. I loved the starter kit for the log fired hot tub and the honesty box to purchase more if you needed to (we brought our own but thought it was great if you hadn't planned this). The bed was super comfy, shower very powerful and again everything was so clean and ready to use. Hot tub was easy to use with the instructions provided and so relaxing! We loved that it was so quiet, you could literally only hear the nearby cows and sheep grazing. Also a perfect spot for stargazing! Not far from the local shop and nearby towns and villages of Rothbury, Thropton, Harbottle and Alwinton where there are excellent pubs and places to eat. It was refreshing to stay somewhere that wasn't overpriced but felt so luxurious. We will absolutely be back to Westfield House Farm for another peaceful break.
