Croft Hill Guest House

I have just returned from a three night stay at Croft Hill Guest House and couldn't recommend it enough. It was my first solo trip and from the minute I arrived the service was exemplary and very welcoming. The room I stayed in was beautifully clean, with a brilliant shower in the en suite and a comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. There are also tea and coffee making facilities within the room, as well as a tv and a card with the wifi code. You have the option of a full English for breakfast but there's also a choice of cereal, fruits and yogurts as well as juices. You are offered tea or coffee and its not a mug but a cafetière of coffee that you get (I can't confirm if its a pot for tea as I just had the coffee but I suspect it is). I went for the full English as I was planning on being out for most of the day, and it was very delicious. The people running the guest house are absolutely lovely. The lady who provided breakfast was really knowledgeable about the local area and incredibly helpful. I can't fault her recommendations at all and she was a pleasure to talk to. I also got a text the day before I went just to make sure I was ok for directions to get there, which I found a really nice touch. The guest house is on a hill just outside Whitehaven so it's easy to get to most places in the area but it's also a very tranquil location. There is plenty of space for parking out the front of the building and once booked in you get a key for your room and another one for the front door, so you are free to come and go as you please.

Wonderful historic property managed by a delightful host Andrew, who was extremely helpful with local advice for food and experiencing the beauty of the Lake District. Andrew was supported by friendly, efficient and extremely helpful staff.

fantastic guest house, l would highly recommend croft hill guest house. it caters for a variety of guests the food was first class. nothing was to much trouble.

I could not find anything that I didn't like.

Room 5 in the attic was a great size with a lovely seaview. Breakfast was filling and well cooked.

Location for non walkers, left us a little remote, but no issues for our time there If I wanted to be 'picky' then the breakfast sausage was not constructed well and a little to peppery for me
