The cleanliness of the place and friendliness of the owners was exceptional. The breakfast was amazing, and they even filled up my flask with their delicious coffee to send me on the next leg of my walking holiday. The building and surroundings were truly magical, even with a family of deer who would visit the garden.

That I couldn't stay longer.

The Old Rectory is a lovely old house close to the town centre and park. There is free parking. We were greeted on arrival. Our room was spacious, and the TV and wifi were excellent. We had everything we needed. Saturday morning I ran Parkrun with my hostess followed by a late breakfast, which was excellent. Room was serviced that day whilst we were out.

Nothing really, the firm mattress would probably suit other people. And I can see that further improvements are in the pipeline, as the present owners have only recently taken it over.

Historical background/location/value/availability -the new hosts went out of their way-very thoughtful

The tv in room kept losing picture and sound (Saturday only) -maybe due to wind affecting the connection
