Hostal el Vaquero

Family run business, very nice people, very good location, good food, facilities, friendly dogs. They went above and beyond to make us feel good. Great views from the room.

Everything was perfect.

Right on the Quilatoa Loop trail. Very nice dining/common areas, fantastic views. On the edge of town so it was nice and quiet and secluded.

The hostel is in a great location for the Quilotoa loop and it was clean and good value. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

We arrived later than expected, so we’re unable to partake of the pleasant lounge area they had which seemed to encourage visitors to fellowship. The rooms were quite nice, the dining area and breakfast good. The setting was beautiful. The staff extremely helpful.

While I enjoyed the two young men who the facility put us together with as our driver and guide, and appreciated their willingness to give us as much time as we desired at each site, their English was not good and I would not call either of them a guide, yet. They do have a lot of potential, however, and we very much enjoyed our experience with them.

Great location. Great views. The family who runs this place are amazing. Try the zip line!

The sauna and steam room were a nice bonus despite the facilities being pretty basic but that is reflected in the price.

The rooms were cold. Lots of blankets so it wasn't too bad to sleep but it was a little uncomfortable. It would have been good to have the fire going in the lounge area when we arrived because everywhere was cold and we couldn't get warm until later on in the evening when the fire was on.
