Hostal el Vaquero

The property is so lovely. Great views. Cute dogs. A baby llama. Lots of communal space to chill. Wi-Fi was good. Victor, the owner, was so lovely and helpful. Great Turkish bath. Good food!

Staff was so friendly and accommodating! Property was off the main road which was nice! Beautiful views and the start to the next part of the Quilotoa hike was right behind the property. Food was good and they accommodated gluten free for one of us which was much appreciated. Room was nice and big.

Our stay here was fabulous. It is absolutely gorgeous here and while we had to walk further on our hike today to get here, we are rewarded with being right next to the start of the trail. There are many hammocks to relax in, alpacas to admire and cute dogs as well (Axle and Lucas). The hosts are incredibly kind, accommodating and patient. It was really such a pleasure to spend time with them. They also have a Turkish Bath and Sauna which were relaxing after a long day of hiking. Dinner was delicious!! There is a wood stove in the common area which is so lovely and warms the dining room during dinner. The decor is stunning and there’s music played in the dining room that provides a wonderful ambience. They have wine and beer and snacks available for purchase as well as lunch boxes. Our room had a stunning Mountain View and an amazing bathroom with really hot showers! I cannot say more great things about this hostal and our stay, I only wish we could have had a little more time in this magical and relaxing place.

Wonderful hostel, with great location, and a very friendly host. The path to Quilotoa starts from their backyard, they also tell you details about the trails. Highly recommended.

Nothing, all was great

Very friendly host, nice breakfast and cheap lunch box. The place is simple but clean and well kept. They also have alpacas in the garden.

Shower was freezing cold, which isn’t great after you have finished a long hike!

Beautiful. Rooms were nice. Steam and sauna. How attentive staff was. Really really nice.

The owner was super lovely. The food was delicious. The room was clean and affordable.

Everything is fantastic. Set in a beautiful garden with on site alpacas this is one of my favourite places I have stayed. Hammocks to relax in, excellent rooms with spotless bathrooms and lovely owners make this a 10/10. I had to extend for a relax day during the Quilatoa trail as it's so nice. Lovely meals too
