Torridon Estate B&B Rooms and Self catering Holiday Cottages

I loved this quirky property. Very mid conversion, with house and family clutter about but I found it charming. I very much enjoyed the community breakfast in the dining room

We liked the opportunity to stay in an old Victorian estate that was being well looked after. We didn't mind that this was a lived-in home; this was actually nice to see. The room was well done, and the en-suite was up to date. The room had electric heating, which worked well, and we were shown how to adjust it.

Breakfast was quite strange. We were asked the night before what time we would like breakfast, but it came 30 minutes late. Unfortunately, we did have quite a strict schedule to keep, so if you are the same, keep this in mind. The food itself was also interesting as it was preset - Cheesy eggs with chorizo, a warm pan eu chocolat, warm fresh half-baked roll, with some feta and tomatoes. But as a positive, it was brought up to the room, and they did cater to allergens!

Our bedroom was beautiful and the super kingsize bed was fantastic and very comfortable. I like that Felix the owner was relaxed and was a good host towards us. The house had an eclectic mix of interiors.

I thought that breakfast could be improved. I.e. giving guests a little more of a choice rather than just the 1 cooked option. A selection of breads and a proper selection of cereals and yogurt. Setting out breakfast isn’t too difficult or too expensive, more choice and attention to layout needs to be taken into consideration, in my opinion. Otherwise fabulous venue.

We were greeted by the cheekiest horses! (Some might not like that but made it a right laugh) They came into our boot trying to help us unpack lol… The estate was beautiful, the hosts do leave their own possessions around making it a bit weird and almost intrusive of their home but we didn’t mind.

Maybe secure the child’s bedroom wall/door that was in our room as anyone could go in there. Breakfast wasn’t any choice and not to our liking maybe add more options

Lovely, quirky place to stay, great location

The description was honest, it’s a large house which is interesting in a beautiful surrounding. The breakfast was a bit random and we had no idea what we were getting till it arrived as the language barrier with the people working there was a little tricky. . I enjoyed a walk at first light listening to the birds and beautiful scenery

We got very little sleep. My friend was awoken after two hours absolutely terrified feeling like someone was pulling her out of bed . Spent the rest of the night with the light on. We’re used to staying in very old houses so this wasn’t something we’d expected

Gorgeous and absolutely huge room with a very comfy bed! Loved the bathroom too! Stunning estate, with friendly owners and staff. Fab to stay in such a strange but beautiful building!

A TV in the room would have been nice, but for only one night it was fine and it was a little bit noisy but think that is just because it’s such an old house. Breakfast was very tasty, but weren’t given an option of what we would like and just it wasn’t quite what we were looking for.

View was spectacular. Had everything we needed though had problems with TV on first night which was sorted the next day.

Can only use TV through connecting to your phone

Nothing, we stayed 1 hour and left, it was like a hippy camp, it felt like a commune. The beautiful old building looks great on the photos but reality was far from the pictures, no way this should operate as a b&b. The house was full of smoke from open fires and firepit coming into the house there was clutter, shoes and clothes strung about.

Everything, the photos don’t reflect reality I’m not sure they’re even of the property, the staircase is dark black with no lights and the pictures show light staircase and beautiful bright rooms - not our experience. We felt so uncomfortable there, we didn’t feel safe so we decided to leave, people saw us go and never asked us why. Also to note, limited electric to the property, no TV in rooms assuming due to limited electricity and check in 5pm. We thought we were going to a luxury Scottish Highland estate, thankfully we were able to get in somewhere else. We have gone back and read some of the reviews, booking.com gives them a 7.x other sites are 3.x someone described it as having “the shinning vibes” this is 100% spot on. Crazy place relieved to be as far away as possible.
