My wife and I visited Ireland for the first time in June 2026, and Maranatha Country House was by far the best bed & breakfast of our entire trip. From the moment we arrived, Douglas and Olwen made us feel genuinely welcome. They are gracious, engaging hosts with wonderful stories and a wealth of local knowledge — the kind of people who elevate a stay from good to unforgettable. The property itself is fabulous. Sitting on a hilltop surrounded by expansive lawns and beautifully kept gardens, it feels peaceful, grand, and full of character. It’s the sort of place where you find yourself stopping just to take in the setting and personnel family items on display in the various rooms adds to the homely feeling that greets you here. We stayed in The Champagne Room, and it was extraordinary. The room was huge, with a stunning champagne‑coloured canopy bed and elegant décor throughout. It felt luxurious, comfortable, and completely unique — a real highlight of the trip. Breakfast was served in a beautifully laid‑out garden room with views across the gardens. The atmosphere, the presentation, and the quality of the food all combined to create a perfect start to the day. There’s no doubt in our minds: we can highly recommend this B&B. Five stars — it deserves more. Thank you Olwen and Douglas, it was a pleasure to meet you both.

BEFijne kamer in een sjiek herenhuis. Alle lof voor de zeer vriendelijke gastvrouw, die ons voorzag van een uitgebreid en lekker ontbijt in een prachtig ingerichte veranda. De prijs is echt niet duur voor het geheel dat je krijgt. Op korte rijafstand van Blarney Castle.
De openbare toegangsweg tussen hoofdweg en de accommodatie ligt er slecht bij, maar daar kunnen de eigenaars niks aan doen.
