It was quirky and clean

It was cold the supplied heating an oil filled radiator was not enough to warm let alone heat the cabin, the hot water was at best lukewarm certainly not warm enough to shower or bath in. Booked at a bed and breakfast which we found out on arrival was not the case. There was a small pack of tea and coffee and 2 pre-packaged croissants

The cabin was quaint and clean. Microwave, fridge and kettle available. Signage in the property good.

1) What the retreat claim is "breakfast included" is a long life croissant, a few sachets of tea, coffee and milklets" that's not a breakfast and was not replenished. So NOT a breakfast. When chatting to the owner, we were informed that it was breakfast as per pictures?! What pictures? We would never had booked if we had known that what was not available. We were not expecting a full English however yoghurt, milk, cornflakes, orange juice and fruit is easy and suitable. Even Premier Inn does better for the price! 2) Very dark to get to the cabin, we needed torches, no lights above or near the stairs which due to the rain the top platform was very slippery. 3) No teaspoons 4) We felt like we were in a construction site. 5) Little things were missed for eg: 1 cup was missing, the neon light needs batteries. 6) The bed was awful, huge gap as the mattress was smaller then the frame. The mattress was lumpy. 7) Low pressure shower and took ages to warm up and still only warm.

Nice quiet location even though so close to motorway.
