"Expensive, rude (except for Rose), sweet dogs and nice view"

6.0

Nice view, nice dogs, friendly surroundings and comfy beds

Extremely high prices for food and activities, ridiculous. Also not able to negotiate. 100 to rent a deflated sub board, 100 to rent an insect infested broken canoe. Food: everything above 100 for tiny portions. All the staff are rude, only Rose is super nice. She should be the one running the place.

The host were very hospitable

The directions on booking.com isn’t accurate getting us lost for 2 hours. The location and the road to get there is very rough

"Don't book here!"

3.0

The location being right on the lake, the pleasant politeness of the 3 women running it, and the dogs are what make this hotel. Being able to access the lake without leaving the site and experiencing its serenity is special. The grounds are well kept.

The food is appalling! On the last night I had to buy my own ingredients to be cooked. My husband went without dinner on one night because it wasn't up to standard. The water stopped running on one day and added to our delay at leaving the premises to go out. The 25-minute drive on outrageously rocky roads to the venue and then to have to pick out an unsteady path was not a great welcome. The insects that bombard the lights at night and are left in an unswept crispy heap by our doorways in the morning are unacceptable. I had to ask for them to be cleaned away. The mosquito netting on the beds were torn and our room was never cleaned throughout our 3-night stay. Additionally, the WiFi is only at the bar and doesn't reach the rooms. However, the other WiFi used by staff could, but were not attainable by us paying guests. Given that we gave this place a benefit of the doubt after reading a bad review and it's reply by management, in hind sight we would not have stayed here. Management needs to attend it's investment regularly to assure it is kept up to standard, rather than live in the city and rely on village girls to run their establishment. We were very disappointed!

"Disappointment at Lake Bosomtwe"

2.0

The staff did their best to make one’s stay as pleasant as possible. If you want an authentic basic nature experience this is the place to go.

Everything about this place seems to be a misrepresentation. This place is best suited -maybe- for backpackers. We used a driver recommended by the property who clearly didn’t know his way and had to ask directions multiple times to get there. The room was dark and uninviting. The bed was covered with a mosquito net that was too short to cover the bed and had at least 1 hole in it. The “restaurant” offerings were limited and predominantly continental/western with few Ghanaian/African options. We felt so uncomfortable that, despite paying for 3 nights, we left the next morning.
