Gustav Bali Homestay and Massage

The homestay was great. The rooms were comfortable and had everything you needed + had a good standard. The shower was hot and the water pressure high. Outside was a well-equipped kitchen including fridge and lots of sofas. The homestay is centrally located, within easy reach of everything.

Great place for early / late check-in in the centre of Sanur / Tamblingan Road. Helpful and friendly staff. Small-ish rooms but with everything I needed – hot shower, wi-fi, aircon, safe – and a really nice balcony area with a kitchen and fridge. Will stay here again. Ketut is a terrific host.

Would prefer a sheet to a doona on the bed. Have to crank the aircon to sleep under a doona and that doesn't help with acclimatising to tropical heat and humidity. Just a sheet, please! (Yes I'll ask beforehand next time)

I think it was a very good catch. The location is perfect. It’s walkable to the beach and you are in a very good area of Sanur. The place is very simple but I was really enjoying it. The AC, the water pressure and temperature, the cleaning were great. You need to put a sign on your door if you want your room cleaned. The bed was comfortable. My husband who is 196 cm long was happy with it. The room was small but you can see how they did everything possible to make it comfortable. We even had a charger station in our room. The staff was very nice, helpful and welcoming. I got great massages from Ketut in the evening. We would prolongate our stay if we would be lucky with the waves at the moment.

The location of the property is great because it’s within walking distance of shops, pharmacy, cafes, restaurants etc. The rooms were clean, tidy & the air conditioning was already turned on for our arrival. The staff were all friendly, happy & helpful. Upstairs outside the rooms is a fully equipped open kitchen & so you can cook your own meals, if you prefer to do this. The entry to the property is via a short laneway up the side of a beauty salon, which offers massages, hair salon, pedicures/manicures - you have to pay for these services. This salon is owned by the same woman who owns/manages the property. There is not a formal reception/lobby & you need to enter the salon to let the staff know that you’ve arrived. The bed & pillows were comfortable & the shower pressure was great. There is a small security safe in each room for your valuables. Our flight home was at 11pm & the staff allowed us to leave our luggage in a secure room all day & free-of-charge.

The rooms are upstairs & the stairs are narrow which made it difficult for me to carry my luggage whilst walking upstairs/downstairs (I have bad knees). The decor on the rooms is a bit outdated & old.

Small kitchen with with fridge and all. Clean room with hot water and aircon. Great location next to supermarket and beach.

Not the most welcoming staff but nice overall
