B&B Dorwyn Manor

Very quiet and tranquil place to stay, just a few minutes walk from Avebury stone circle. Mike offered to drive us to the village as we came by bus, which was very kind. The breakfast was also excellent and just what we needed before a day of walking.

Everything was great, I really liked the "honesty bar", had loads of helpful things besides snacks and drinks, like charger cables and tooth brushes - the kinds of things it's easy to forget to pack! Thankfully we didn't need any but it's great to see these things thought about.

There isn't anything I would criticise, it was a lovely stay.

We were very impressed from the beginning with our hosts and the bnb. They offered to pick us up, drive us around the village and back. They were exceptionally kind, gracious, and the breakfast was lovely. They even sent us off with a packed lunch for the amazing hike around the henge that we did. We will definitely be back again and cannot recommend Dorwyn Manor enough. There are also two gorgeous dogs on the property. 10/10!

Dorwyn Manor is a great place to stay. The hosts, Mike and Debbie are incredibly friendly. The rooms clean and comfy. Breakfast is terrific with vegan and vegetarian options available. Lots of parking spaces at the Manor, which is great. It’s approximately a 10 minute walk into Avebury, partially on the road which is a bit hairy as most of the vehicles are going too fast. Mike is very happy to give you a lift and that can be very handy, especially in the evening, if you visit the local pub. Called the Red Lion, it is great for food and the staff are terrific. Avebury is wonderful. When you get to the footpaths you feel safe away from the road and you can walk for miles. It is a stunning place to be. The countryside is wonderful, the stones are incredible, the feeling of being transported back 4,000 years is awe inspiring. As well as walking round the henge and stones at Avebury we had lovely walks to Silbury Hill, the West Kennet Long Barrow, The Sanctuary and Windmill Hill. We visited the museum to learn how the history of the site and to see ancient artefacts discovered at the World Heritage Site . Avebury is a magical and fascinating place!

The rooms are very close together so you hope that your fellow guests also like early nights so that there is silence at night. Our room was quite snug with a tiny bathroom but there are larger rooms available.
